Derrow Insurance was founded in 1969 in Wellston, OH by John L. Derrow. In 1984, his son, John S. Derrow joined the agency, eventually becoming president. In 2014, third generation family member Andrew Derrow joined to carry on the legacy.

The agency was located in downtown Wellston until 2018, when Derrow Insurance purchased Waugh Insurance, eventually moving to the present location just a few blocks away.
